So, this is the Roman Villa. It’s famous for it’s 38,000sq ft of floor covered in mosaics. There are about 40 mosaics in all, we saw 3 because the restoration project that began 6 years ago and was supposed to be finished last year but will probably take another 2 years (optimistic) meant that most of the villa was wrapped in plastic when we were there. We did like the bit that we saw.

Before the discovery of Villa Romana del Casale, an old Roman villa apparently no one ever visited Piazza Armerina. We took 2 nice photos of the town and what we ate for lunch at Toto’s.
