2010. We (Sarah and Jeremy) recently left Amsterdam and relocated to Sicily, Italy. We are working on organic farms and travelling. This internet page, which we plan on updating periodically, chronicles some of the things we like, mainly, colours, food and things that involve the sun.

Adventures with Punky

It all started in Nicosia with a granita for breakfast, like all good adventures should…

We had a date at Tenuta Gangi Vecchio. A former Benedictine monastery now fully equipped with a bar, pool, astroturf and an amazing restaurant, one of Sicily’s best we hear. So we contended with the worst roads in the world, actually to call it a road is an exaggeration, we contended with the worst pothole in the world, which lead us further and further away from civilization, contemplated turning back but the promise of the “the best meal you will ever have” kept us going…

and…

it was pretty good

Gangi town. Central Sicily. Clustered on a hill. Standard.

“Have you been to Cefalu?”
Second to “It is my dream to go to Australia,” this is one of the most common things we’ve heard Sicilians say (to us at least). Now we can answer “Yes!” We have been to Cefalu and “si era belissimo!”
The piazza where Cinema Paradiso was filmed

Punky getting a ‘massage’ from a beach vendor which apparently felt more like the masseur was patting a cat.
