It all started in Nicosia with a granita for breakfast, like all good adventures should…
We had a date at Tenuta Gangi Vecchio. A former Benedictine monastery now fully equipped with a bar, pool, astroturf and an amazing restaurant, one of Sicily’s best we hear. So we contended with the worst roads in the world, actually to call it a road is an exaggeration, we contended with the worst pothole in the world, which lead us further and further away from civilization, contemplated turning back but the promise of the “the best meal you will ever have” kept us going…

“Have you been to Cefalu?”
Second to “It is my dream to go to Australia,” this is one of the most common things we’ve heard Sicilians say (to us at least). Now we can answer “Yes!” We have been to Cefalu and “si era belissimo!”
