Meet Vittorio
This is his farm
Vittorio’s farm is isolated in very pretty woods
He lives here with Tatalie aka Butch Cassidy
Rusty aka The Sundance Kid. Rusty had worms
And Lupo, we love Lupo
In our free time we’d watch our own personalised colour TV
Sit and ponder
And play with chainsaws
Vittorio cultivated many delicious things such as gelsi…
Gelsi is Italian for mulberries. We’d never tried these so made up for lost time at Vittorio’s. He had two gelsi trees one which bore white fruit and the other black. There’s no popping off to the gelsi tree for a quick hit though; they leave your hands looking as though you’ve just committed a rather gruesome mafia murder, nothing that a little swim with the fishes won’t fix.
And gelsi season means gelsi granita’s! Yep, we’re obsessed granita’s.
Zucchini
Oregano
Lavender
And thyme
One day Vittorio looked around and asked himself “how can I live off my land?” And Puro e Semplice was born - body products made from things he cultivated organically or sourced locally.
We helped Vittorio make things like bath salts…
An amazing body scrub – so good we watched our tans wash away down the drain
Terra Lava, a mud based shampoo with lavender and citrus essences
Honey and essential oil moisturizers
He moved his product in his Sicilian taxi. Riding with him was like having an aromatherapy session. It almost made sharing the road with Sicilians bearable.
