We had 2 hours to kill before embarking on a TWENTY. FOUR. HOUR. BOAT. JOURNEY. from Genova back to Palermo. So we whizzed through the town and were surprised with what we found - a beautifully intact, massive, medieval, port town. In our whistle-stop-tour we managed to navigate the labyrinth of an old town, dodge the hoards of scooter-ists, taste the local specialty - a biscuity focaccia, visit an impressive produce market and buy Sarah an amazing new pair of shoes. Very happy times.
