2010. We (Sarah and Jeremy) recently left Amsterdam and relocated to Sicily, Italy. We are working on organic farms and travelling. This internet page, which we plan on updating periodically, chronicles some of the things we like, mainly, colours, food and things that involve the sun.

Noto and the Noto Infiorata

Noto has been one of our favourite towns so far. It was completely flattened, along with most of the southeast region, by an earthquake in the 1600s. It’s small, understated and relaxed. It also has a gelateria that is reputedly the BEST IN THE WORLD. The pistachio made us weak at the knees.

Every year one of the main streets in Noto is decorated with flower petal designs. The petals sit in a mould formed by ground coffee beans collected from local cafĂ©’s. It’s considered one of Sicily’s most famous festivals but to be honest the arancini we ate for lunch that day were more impressive.
